The Melt LED Surface Wall Sconce from Tom Dixon is a compact version of the larger products in the line, which provides you with some versatility as you create your lighting scheme. The Polycarbonate seethes in organic and natural ways so that it calls to mind the images of nebulous clouds in deep space, a melting glacier, or molten glass. FRONT—which is a Swedish design collective—worked with the brand to create this design, and they used a 6W LED ring integrated into the product to highlight the beauty of its imperfections. Tom Dixon

Tom Dixon was founded in 2002 with a lofty goal: to revive the British furniture industry. Even as it was founded, the company already had a sort of rebellious, inventive reputation based on the preceding career of the man himself. Dixon, a self-taught designer and welder first burst onto the scene in 1987 with his S-chair for Cappellini.
